As a French photographer currently based in Nashville, my work is inspired by a love of beauty, connection, and storytelling. I’ve always been drawn to meaningful experiences, whether that means exploring a new destination, gathering around a table with loved ones, or documenting the beginning of a couple’s next chapter.
Wedding photography brings all of those things together.
I am endlessly inspired by the emotion of a wedding day the anticipation before walking down the aisle, the quiet glances exchanged across a crowded room, the laughter, the tears, and the people who make your story uniquely yours. These are the moments I am most passionate about preserving.
My approach is a blend of honest documentation and timeless artistry. I want your photographs to feel effortless and authentic while remaining beautiful for decades to come. Long after the flowers have faded and the music has ended, your images will remain as a reminder of how it all felt.
As I prepare for an exciting new chapter and a return to France, my passion remains the same: creating meaningful imagery for couples who value connection, beauty, and the legacy of their memories.
I believe that couples find each other in an incredibly hard chance with odds stacked against them but when all the ingredients are right, love emerges and transforms them.
A wedding is the beginning of their new life and remembering it is essential to keeping the flame on. A fun wedding has its focus on the important things and couples who are in love don’t mind the small stuff. I capture real life and real moments.
Being back home has helped me reimagine myself and perfect my work, finding more diverse locations and clients, and growing my business even more.
I moved back to Nashville and started building a new clientele. It’s been an exciting journey connecting with amazing couples and growing my photography business in a city that feels like home.
I was steadily booking more weddings and engagement sessions, each one reinforcing why I chose this path. I started finding my people—the couples who valued storytelling, emotion, and the real moments in between.
I focused on learning everything I could. From camera settings to posing to finding my unique style and rhythm, it was a year of growth, challenge, and discovery.
I launched JLafayPhotography
and photographed my first professional wedding.
